For live sets, on some tracks, I export 1 or 2 bar loops and then put a trig on step 1. When it comes back around, sometimes it is nice and clean and, randomly, other times I get a nice POP like a bad edit.
This can happen:
whether flex or static machines are used.
even if there a zero crossings at both ends of the sample.
even when the tempo is the same as the original.
even if I program a short attack time like 1-3 to remove the “transient” of the loop.
Any advice how to avoid or fix this? It sometimes can be covered up by a kick on the 1, but I swear there is no rhyme or reason to when it pops or doesn’t.
What OS version are you using? There was an OS update or two within the last 6 months or so addressing a popping issue (i think).
Check out the envelope settings on the AMP page of the track that is streaming the audio from the CF card, particularly ATK and the Amp Setup configuration.
Make sure you don’t have an LFO assigned to ATK or some other param on the Amp page.
Make sure you don’t have a p-lock on an Amp page param.
Latest OS. Def some parameters on AMP setup page to explore yet in this case, none changed anything. But I can see how there could be in some cases. Def no LFO or p-locks. Will report back any findings, thanks.
Same here but in Pro Tools. The issue I have though is that I don’t always want audio to fade to 0 even if for a short while. It could be in the middle of a note, for example.
Do you have loop enabled as well as a trig placed?
If it’s hitting the start of the looping phase ever so slightly before its retrigged you’d get a pop!

little fade will not hearable (value 0.063), but if you don’t like how it sounds, you can do it in your DAW for the best result. Sometimes I’m editing sounds in Audition, but I don’t need this for the soundsrecorded by octa
