Loops are fading

Hi there,

I am trying to do something similar to the cross fader trick, but something is amiss
my tracks are setup thus

Track 1: Flex :Bass Drum Sample
Track2: Flex: Snare
Track3:Flex: Closed Hat
Track4: Flex Open Hat

finally
Track 5: Flex: Recorder Buffer 5

I have set up the fader so when to the right tracks 1 -4 are MAX and 5 is MIN
and to the left 1-4 areMIN and Track5 is MAX

I select track 5 go to the recorder menu and select SCR3 as MAIN legnth 16 and place a recoder trig on step 1…I see the record head recording but then as I move the fader from the right to the left, the volume dips and then with every successive loop it fades out until it fades to nothing…what do I do to make my loops stay at the original volume?

I have tried removing track 5’s trigg but then upon the loop point I get silence…I am confused.

Are the samples themselves fading? Meaning if you go to the edit menu are they quiet?

sorry, indeed Source is “MAIN”

and no, the samples themselves are always full volume (these are single hits programmed with trigs not loops or anything like that)

I actualy never did find which of the seamingly endless sets of gain stages is the “MAIN” setting…but I think I figured it out…

I didn’t understand you having to remove the record trig before actually playing back the audio…(it is a shame scenes can’t themselves have different trig settings at each side, one set to “record” and one set to "playback would be SOOO much easier)

anyway, it seems my recorder was lesft “open” as I was cross fading, so onsequentally I was picking up the fading audio, then playing that back, whilst picking up the fading audio, and playing that back…etc etc…solved!!

whilst on the subject though…

is there a simpler way, this separation of record and playback over completely differant pages seems very unlike anything i have encountered before…

is there any way to have a single trigger that upon placement records for a legnth that oy have set up in advance, which then instantly becomes a playback trig at the point where the loop is complete?

that would seem more logical to me

One shot trigs come in very handy for these kinds of things.

Hmm, it sounds like with some tweaking, this might have potential for unusual feedback-based sounds.

I’ve been using one shot rec trigs, and sampling from Track 8 (set to master) instead of main lately. No more volume issues like you’re talking about, much easier. I plan on making a new crossfader transition video showing this method in the next day or two.

In order to keep the volume consistent while continuously resembling main, there’s some weird interplay between all the different levels and volumes to get it to work. My primary live pa in the OT was the first time I tried this when I got the OT, and just out of pure dumb luck it works fine. I can’t get the volumes to remain consistent in any new project I try and copy the settings from, go figure.
