Warps my head ! Apparently they keep the same signature for loops and the drummer knows. The string player is surely capable to add loops with weirder lengths! I may have missed that…
(It usually seem to be in loop sync mode, first loop sync)
Boomerang III cannot be Master and that sucks…

As someone who’s been heavily practicing live looping for years, watching that video brings me back to the trauma of having to watch your pedals during the whole show. At some point playing becomes simply automatic and not so enjoyable anymore since you have to deal with all the footswitching work.
That was the main reason I bought the OT for before realizing live looping is even harder on the OT. Then I started to spend my days on this forum trying to figure out a device I originally bought for a total different reason

Is anybody familiar with the options for 2+ simultaneously loop tracks?
The Boss RC-500 can do this, but it looks like the 2 instruments need to be mono. Wondering if there are other options where maybe stereo instruments could be used.

Interesting twist of fate…I’ve tried and sold several loopers and basically just sidelined thinking about it. A buddy has been trying to talk me into just getting a Boomerang III and being done with it, but I never did. Tonight he told me he had a gift for me before I started my gig…we went out to his car and he handed me a Boomerang III and a SuperEgo (I used to have a SuperEgo and regretted selling it). Watching tutorials now

I’m on the boomerang train currently too. It’s a cool looper, UI is a little quirky but that’s to be expected on a box this old. Someone on reddit figured out all the cc mappings if you want to emulate the sidecar with another midi device.

it’s more of an experimental looper than…a deterministic recorder if that makes sense but Puremagnetik LAPS is 3x stereo looping channels.

I use the RC-600 and it has up to 3 stereo ins or 6 mono or combinations of whatever fits your style. For output you have up to 5 stereo out options.

Yeah Im just looking at a quick search of its inputs, looks like its 1 set of stereo inputs, so I was saying you could also attach two different instruments to it using each input as mono.
I could be wrong though never used it
Ah ok. This is possible with any stereo looper. Record left or right with an A/B switch eventually. I bought one for that purpose but i barely used it.
Basic example would be bass on the left, left output to bass amp, guitar on the right, right output on guitar amp.
Can be voice, synth, whatever…

FWIW Boomerang can do double mono as well as stereo. Very useful, I only realized quite late but now i use the double mono all the time. What’s strange is that if you plug two instruments and only the right output, you get signal from both. Usually you need to only use the Left if you use mono or you won’t get any sound.
This looper has really been done outside of regular conventions when you see the routing, the CC map (totally mad).
