For what it’s worth, this will hurt their low-end response.
Based on that 1–1.5m distance, you’re likely to get a big cancellation around 55–85Hz.

You ideally want the back of a speaker placed as close to a wall as you can (but no closer than the port diameter, if rear-ported) or placed more than 3m from the walls so that the cancellation frequency is below 30Hz.

Of course few people have the opportunity to set up speakers in an ideal location, so it would not be the end of the world. But something to consider.
