The big Sabrent USB 3 hubs have served me well. The one I’m using now has something like 10 ports with a power button per port. I run a long CablesMatter USB C to B3.0 cable from my Mac to it. Zero problems with any of my synths, including the Virus TI (which is famously picky about hubs)

USB gets wonky at 4 connections or more per original jack, less if you’ve got a lot of activity. USB C didn’t fix it so you may have to use multiple dongles.
That has not been my experience at all with
- Sabrent usb3
- Anker usb3
- some Belkin 7port usb 2
All of which were 7+ port hubs with more than 4 audio devices concurrently plugged in.
It depends on the behavior of the devices you connect but the USB protocol has its limitations. You’ll find out if you need more than one dongle but don’t be surprised.
USB has a limit of 127 devices. I’m pretty bad at math, but I’m told that 127 > 4. Additionally, when it looks like your machine has 4 USB ports, those are almost always implemented with an internal hub chip.
