Hi Music addicts !
I would need some recommendations about mix table for my dawless setup.
If someone have any idea, it would very appreciated.
My requirements are:
portable because my goal is that everything can fit in two flying case
possibilité to pre-listen any channel
some returns for my Zoia to add effect on the channel(s) I want
6 stereo line inputs
My actual mix table does allow me to pre-listen a particular channel, which is a problem to me in live in a jam.
Thanks in advance.
There are lots of small desks on the market that would suit your needs. The spec you require is fairly straightforward fare in the world of desks. If you’re looking for a premium product then the SSL Six seems popular. You’d need to check it does what you want tho. Otherwise there is plenty of choice from Alto, Behringer, PreSonus, Yamaha etc etc. Your factors of choice them would be footprint and number of channels.
Mackie 1202/1402 vlz would fit the bill. 2 stereo aux returns and routing via main mix or control room/alt 3&4 for monitoring. The A&H Zed mixers have a decent rep but there are no dedicated returns. I can see. You’d need to return via spare inputs. It looks like a lot of the smaller desks that have fx built in have sacrificed a proper aux send/return section, presumably because they think you won’t need it.
You might be able to get around that with a 3.5mm stereo to 6.35mm lead. Always better it you’ve got two dedicated returns tho. Plus the you can always use them as additional input if required. I desk with decent connectivity is a godsend.
Thanks. But you are right, having a TR-8S makes it interesting to get one.
Not enough audio input to me, and unfortunately, USB channels won’t accept Digitakt et Digitone sound.
It looks a very cool device anyway.
Agreed, it’d likely fly off the shelves. There’s something really important about hardware interfaces with sliders and knobs that makes for spontaneity.
Thanks DampSquid, agree with you, the Allen and Heath Xone 96 do all what I want and more… but too heavy and pricey… And thanks JamesM, the Radial key largo looks sooooo good, almost perfect… only missing prelistening… does not seems to have some hidden functionality reachable through midi cc…
What a pity… looks so nice !
I found the impro-live mix table for Synths I was looking for: Allen & Heath ZED series.
This series is not big and allow to listen on headphone before to send a new sound to the main.
It has also a return for my Zoia.
And I cannot complain that the winner is Allen & Heath, good sound quality !
i would go Zoom Livetrack because of the 9 scene recall (9 track mixing configuration recall), soundcard, recorder on card, one bus effects, full mixing on each track with eq, comp, great selection of sample rate and bit depth, a lot of headphones for jam with more people, and only weight: 2,53 kg
