Heya,
So yes. Here’s my first octatrack question. Honestly been having incredible amounts of fun with it and I’m completely in love. There are some things I wish it could do coming from digitakt, but that’s overshadowed by the heaps of flexibility and mangle options. And scenes
However, I’m at the well known point of going slightly nuts about something that is happening and I cannot figure out why. It’s incredibly annoying.
I have a very long sample on a static track. It doesn’t contain slices. Loop is set to off in audio editor as well as on the src page. No time stretch etc. In the sequencer I have a one shot trig. So I arm the track and it starts playing. It used to be fine and play until the end, no problem. Left the pattern alone for some time to work on other patterns. Now I’m listening to it again and this sample keeps restarting seemingly at random points. Sometimes after a minute. Sometimes after two minutes. It’s just very very weird. I’m not doing anything. Not rearming the track, nothing.
Anybody has an idea what this could be causing? I’m pulling my hair out. (I guess I’m now officially into the rabbit hole huh?)
Congrats and welcome to the “wtf my OT is doing” world!
So your sample is on only 1 track, with 1 one shot trig you arm? Retriggered without obvious reasons randomly?
Anything in midi IN?
Any lfo? Scenes? (You can disable them with FN+Scene A/B)
RETRIG settings?
It’s using neighbor track as well. But yes on the static machine track it’s using a one shot trig. And two trigless trigs to restart an lfo with destination amp level. Other LFO’s are at depth 0.
Yeap it retriggers. Very weird.
it contains just 1 scene other than default which only modulates paremeters on other tracks
retrig is set to 1, so off
Yeah I guess I should just be using 1st condition in this case I just really want to know why this happens. It’s as if the octatrack is randomly rearming the track. Let’s see if 1ST solves this. Listening now.
…using a few static machines at once…?
…meaning, do u stream a lot from that card…?
if u are the same mr. mech that does the good takt vid’s, ur know what ur doing…
so congrats to ur new toy…and u know that the ot is way more complex than the takt…
the takt can’t stream samples…
and the ot needs a proper cv card to do so…so don’t go cheap on that card…
spent ur new ot the best card with super tight reading access rates…
because this sounds all pretty much like too slow card issues here to me…
I specifically researched what type of card to get and got a fast one. I am using only 1 static machine in this pattern and it’s not doing anything special other than playing and having 4fx by way of neighbor machine.
Amp Vol I guess. What if you remove them?
Edit : Is the sample retriggered at its beginning?
You can save the project as new to find out if it is solved without answer!
Yeah it’s retriggered at its beginning. Removing the trigless triggs seemed to have solved it. But of course it’s now not doing what I want with retriggering the lfo.
Hmmm
Edit: saving to new unfortunately didn’t solve it haha
