Are there any events/demos etc for Elektron products in the UK? Are there any places where I could try out an Octatrack (preferably in London?)

Phone first - but I was in there Edinburgh store and they had all the Elektrons setup for hands on tryouts.

Juno.co.uk (in Camden) now have a small demonstration space. You’d have to call first to arrange a time.

+1 for Juno - and cos it’s not a proper shop you’ll basically have the demo room to yourself for a decent amount of time - just book ahead and tell em what machines you wanna try out as they’ll need to set em up for you - I was in there a couple of days ago and it was wall to wall DSi

oh really…I popped in Juno a few times before to collect speakers and needles. It struck me as the perfect office to work as each desk had a computer and a turntable! I see they got an Octa B Stock, v.tempting.

If your choosing between the B unit, and a used unit, get the B stock. For the warranty at least. I almost bought that same unit last week but instead went for a second-hand unit from a user. Worst purchasing decision I have ever made. I only saved £60 over the B-Stock price, I stupidly wanted the box which the B stock didn’t have. Within hours I found it had the headphone crackle/dropout problem and a bent pin in the CF reader. But no warranty means I’m stuck.
