I have just bought the Digitakt, there’s no factory sounds/presets/anything on it.
I’ve done the factory reset (hold the function key when booting the Digitakt up) which did nothing.
Lastly, i’ve tried the link for further help, as suggested, but the link seems to be broken.
To speed things up when/if u reach back to me, i have Overbridge and Transfer downloaded, and some youtube videos are helping me along with the rest, i just can’t find one with this issue.
Hey, so it sounds like someone tried to clear the memory before sale and wiped all the existing content including factory samples. First thing I would do is load any generic sample via transfer (drag and drop into the open transfer window while your DT is connected via USB) then once installed, as a test, make sure the digitakt works as it should (ie you get audio, you can hear the sample when you load it to a track and hit the trig, and you can lay it into the sequencer. As long as that operation is fine, then to reach a resolution you’ll probably need to contact elektron support (create a ticket while logged into your account) and have them send you a zip file with the factory content so that you can restore it.
I think the presets are only baked into elektron synths, but the samplers (like digitakt) just contain a collection of files which is why the factory reset didn’t restore the sounds for you. I would definitely make sure to get all that because it contains the toolkit of single cycle waveforms and a lot of other useful content.
In the interim, you can download one or more of numerous free sample packs from the elektron store or various places on the internet to get some content onto the DT that you can work with while you wait for further help.
Unfortunately, I think that’s about all you can do for the moment, but as long as the device itself is working properly then this isn’t a huge roadblock because luckily, it’s just the files which need to be restored.
LMK if that doesn’t answer your question, and good luck.
Seems like factory reset should populate the drive with original files. I imagine you’ve done so but current firmware update should also help with stuff missing. Or, if at the current OS 1.51A update, maybe download and do it again?
Best of luck to you.
There are a couple more steps after holding the function key and booting? After holding func and reboot, use the trig keys to navigate to factory reset (maybe 4 or 5 choices?,) press yes and should see update happening for a moment. The machine should reboot itself afterward, I believe.
Hi…i’ve loaded up some samples to transfer and i’m trying to preview them by holding down the function key and pressing yes, i’m not getting any sound through logic at all but the channel fader is moving like i should be getting some. Is that a logic or digitakt issue? To me it seems like a digitakt issue because i can preview the sample sound in transfer.
I’m using monitors, nothings coming out, but when previewing the sample in Transfer its working fine…and when im using Overbridge and pressing trigger 1 (kick) im getting movement in the main in channel, the kick channel and the output channel, but with no sound
