Is it possible to assign tempo to a particular pattern. So let’s say All of my A is one tempo, for a song, and all of my B is a tempo. Or even A01 is one tempo, and A02 is another tempo?
NOPE … 1 tempo ( stored ) per song
NOPE … 1 tempo ( stored ) per song [/quote]
So, in song mode, does A01 qualify as one song? Or how are songs quantified in the system?

or per project - I’m not shure , never made 2 or more songs per project.
There’s no way to store the tempo at pattern - or - chain level.
A song can contain 1 to 128 patterns with a maximum of 64 chains.
You are Always in a song when playing I guess, even if there’s just 1 pattern. When switching oi Chain , only the chain of the song you’re in will loop, in pattern - mode only the pattern loops.
So A01 qualify’s as a song when you’re song only contains 1 pattern.
No.
The tempo is a global parameter, so it affects all patterns and songs in the project. See page 30 of the manual.

No.
A01 is a pattern.
Songs are structured sequences of chains or patterns. See page 45 of the manual.
Up to 16 songs can be created in a project.

A pattern is a pattern. Songs are sequences of patterns and chains.
You have to enter Song mode to play a song. See page 45 of the manual.
So a whole project needs to be the same tempo? (unless you change it, but then it affects the whole project).
Here’s another question.
Can you chain songs? or can you only chain patterns?
I noticed in manual that project can have/store like 5 globals settings or something similar. I think that includes tempo info? Not sure if you can ‘sequence’ these within song mode though? Haven’t really tried any of this stuff yet though so I could be way off…

It’s tricky, because ultimately what I want is to switch genres between songs without having to stop all the sounds. Like have some pads going which then lead me into a song that is a different tempo and syncopation. But it doesn’t seem like there is a way to do that without my manual tweaking of the tempo. Which i guess isn’t a big deal since it will make the increase less noticeable anyhow.
I was just trying to figure out how to save tempo per pattern on my A4 instead of just a global tempo setting. It’s hard to believe you can’t simply save the tempo on a pattern on a modern synth.
I manage to get tempo per pattern on my A4 by using it in conjunction with my Electribe 2, which does support a different tempo per pattern.
The Electribe sends Clock and Transport to the A4 and the A4 sends Program Change (pattern change) to the Elecribe.
This configuration works really well, plus the Electribe 2’s sounds compliment the A4’s sounds, particularly when fed into the A4 and adding a touch of reverb.
