The Ikea BRADA come in two different sizes too. The small ones are ideal for Elektron stuff, though probably not Analog Rhythm as you need to bash the pads on that.
Thatâs scary to me. If ikea fails thatâs going to be a synth graveyard!
Whatâs that? iPad DVS system? How?
Those are great! I guess I need a third one.
actually pretty sturdy and sound. Iâve got quite a lot on my setup. (that pic wasnât mine - it was from ikea promo btw)
Got two of the shoe racks with gear on them. also got shelves and expedit-style boxes hanging from the setup.
The poles are braced between your floor and ceiling and can be screwed to both. There are also little metal braces where you can brace to the wall so its a damn solid setup.
Your shelves/racks/boxes are clamped to the poles. Any fail would probably come down to the owner whoâs not tightened up the brace bolts tight enough.
I check my bolts every once and a while just to make sure

Currently trying to hack a living room setup out of an old Stolmen. I have plenty of them modules to use, just not to sure about placement and further usage etc.
Do you guys have setups based on that? Share pics if so, help me out. Thanks!
Hereâs what I had.
Itâs currently in storage. Donât think Iâll be able to set it up in our new place as the ceilings are too high

Cool! Keep em coming. Did it hold the recordsâ weight well? Was yours anchored to the wall as well with those extra braces?
ever seen any videos by Retrosound? heâs got a ton of these employed, with a lot of VERY heavy synths on them.
personally Iâm still after a solution like the one from Tychoâs (old) studio, shown below. itâs basically the Ikea Jerker but heâs turned the shelves into drawers. so he can just slide out whatever synth heâs after, and keep the other ones stored away.
I never had records in the box shelves of the stolmen.
The shelves etc are held in place with clamps around vertical poles so the strength is only as good as how tight youâve tightened those clamps.
Iâd probably be confident to fill one of the three boxes with records but definitely not all three
Mines was braced between floor/ceiling as well as using the wall clamps.
I think on the ceiling tops you can screw them into the roof, I canât remember If mines was or not - i think it was.
Certainly a solid construction. The angled metal shelves (shoe racks) do have a bit of bend/twist in them so they arent really the best place for placing MPCâs/Maschine where youâll be banging pads hard.
Yes, the Jerker was really nice.
I built some of these simple inexpensive shelves tonight. I plan to make as many as I have gear for. I like to pull out a few pieces of gear to work with at a time rather than try to fill my desk with every possible inch taken up. This is a good way to store stuff when youâre not using it.
If you canât/donât want to build your own I believe there are ikea versions available. The ikea versions are meant for sitting picture frames on but they work great for desktop boxes.
The Ikea ones are called Mosslanda
My eyes went right to that Futura 2000 piece!
I wish ikea still made those shoe racks.
Nice hack, fam. Those little picture shelves are
- I want to get some up to put pedals on.
I see the gear sits between the wall and frame. Donât the cases get scratched when you move them around?
There is a âlipâ on the front of the shelf. I set the gear against the lip and lean it back on the wall. No sliding or scratching. Keep in mind that I donât âuse my gearâ while itâs on these shelves.
If you make your own you can use a router or sander to round out the edge so its curved and smooth if you are concerned about it. Wood is a relatively soft material and shouldnât easily scratch powder coated metal or hard plastic.
I wouldnât worry though unless youâre really aggressively putting your gear away.
Furiously putting your gear away? Heh
If you look at the picture I just posted, I added wooden blocks behind the lower IKEA shelf so it sat even further from the wall so my mixer sat at a better angle:
