So I wanna have my favorite drum sounds from ST and DN on DT II, and thought about setting up a sequence on these machines that I can fire up, record on DT II and have an easily sliceable audio file in the end. What’s the best way to set this up? I think I’ll record samples containing only kicks, hats etc. with different timbres of each preset. Maybe also different envelope settings, or should I just do that on DT II later on?
Now where should I place these plocked one shots on ST/DN sequencer so that after slicing, each slice is one sample? Best way of making sure start stop is okay would be arming DT to volume or better sync it to start stop of ST/DN or no difference?

- DT2 midi out > Digi midi in
- DT2 Master*
- Choose max slice length
- Choose Grid value
- Place trigs depending on above choices on a Dt2 midi track or Digi track, set corresponding tempo/scale.
- record with PLAY quantize.
I did it recently, worked like a charm.
A simple setting for 64 x 1s slices grid
Tempo 60, scale 1/4, 64 trigs.
Or
Tempo 120, scale 1/8, 64 trigs.
64s recording, max is 66s.
That’s up to you. With different settings, variations, you can modulate the different slices with lfos, velocity. More work.

Thanks, I’m gonna try this after my vacation! Been thinking about limiting myself to 16 slices, so I can easily play these on a keyboard immediately.
