Hey guys. I have an Octatrack (MK1) for some months now and I really love it. I would say that I managed to understand most parts of it while I’m still discovering some new things. But sometimes my live-composing workflow feels a bit odd. One example: if I want to use a riser I’m putting it on one track as a sample that I can trigger at any time. I thought about a solution with the fader, some heavy sample mangling, whatever, but I didn’t come up with another option. Just wondering how you are composing for a liveset using the Octatrack (risers, drops, breaks, layering,…)?! Would be happy to hear about some of your favorite techniques.
One shot trigs have a lot of possibilities if you haven’t looked into them yet?
You can hold down YES while a pattern is playing and the one-shots will trigger
