"line merger"?

Hi Nauts,

i’m looking for some sort of transparent “line merger”. Something like these 4 channel micro mixer, but without any controls (knobs/faders). I would like to route some mono outputs into one input without a big mixer. Any hints? Thank you. :okej:

simple summing?

if DIY is okay… https://www.diyrecordingequipment.com/products/sb2-16x2-passive-summing-mixer

if not: https://reverb.com/item/18705572-custom-16-x-2-passive-summing-mixer

These are passive so you’ll need to make up the gain with whatever you are plugging the output into.

If it’s line level stuff you can use the RDL STD 10K, but you would need to make dongles or chop connectors off of cables as they use captive screw terminals. I think they have the same thing in several impedance levels, so it may be worth looking into depending on what you’re feeding it.

Super cheap on eBay.

@AdamJay: Thank you. I guess those are overkill, but passive is perfect.

@mas_akala: Looks like a solution. I’m not sure if 10k are correct, but i guess so.

Maybe a little explanation on what i would like to do helps to help me.

I would like to “extend” the inputs of my Octatrack, so i can connect more then one 6,3mm jack. For example, i would like to connect three unbalanced outputs of my Vermona DRM1 MK3 with one of the Octatrack inputs. I guess it should be possible to use the RDL STD 10K for this?

What about Art Passive SplitMix4?

Thank you! Do you know if it will boost the signal if the controls are set to 10 or if 10 means input signal/volume = output signal/volume (which would be perfect). I mainly looking for a passive “set it and forget it” merge solution. I could live with the controls if the device doesn’t boost the signal.

EDIT: I’ll order one and try it out.

I have one but haven’t used it for a while. It’s passive so it attenuates only, however from memory I think their is some signal loss at 10 anyway

I read about the level loss, ordered one nevertheless. Will see if it really matters, but i guess i can compensate it. It’s more important that the signal doesn’t get noisy or the output level is to high by mistake. Thank you for the hint.
