Limiter/compressor for Rodec Restyler?

Gentlemen,
I’ve just had a spot of good fortune ( well I think I have?) Just bought it off a chap on ebay for very little.

He bought it thinking it was a mixer with effects and when he got it home, realised his mistake, plugged it up anyway and blew his speakers. Not sure why he didn’t return it there and then but…
Really nice bloke but not the sharpest bulb in the nest.
Anyway, cutting to the chase. Does anyone have any recommendations for CHEAP BUT EFFECTIVE limiters/compressors to chain between it and my desk.
I say cheap as I’ve just been raped by the HMRC (dyslexic for CU#@s).
As ever, your collective fountain of knowledge will be gratefully received.

I have a Restyler and haven’t had an issue with it. I suppose if you crank the resonance up all the way you could get a crazy signal level, but outside of doing that there’s nothing that should really blow your speakers.

Anyway, if you do want something, one of the dbx boxes (1066?) should work. Or maybe an FMR RNC
