Youtube shorts have really started to scare me, like I can’t stop and before I know it I’ve wasted hours. Crack pipes might actually be a little easier to put down.
I have the Kompakt. I needed a dumb phone because my adhd makes self constraint with smartphone usage hard at times. However, it also makes you less reliant on them, because you’re always forgetting to charge the dam thing or leaving it behind by mistake! I can say the Kompakt is great as a phone, my only gripe is the lack of proper WhatsApp implementation, which you’ll know has pretty much replaced texting in Europe and so is a none negotiable. That said, it can run it, it’s just a chore to manage it (for example my app is out of date for 3 weeks now because I can’t be arsed to plug it in to my desktop for an update) and fiddly to navigate. You may also find the lack of a podcast app and the photo quality annoying if that’s your thing - currently I use a very old iPad for my podcasts and I try to use my SLR if I’m planning on taking photos.
imagine yt shorts is half baked b-tec shitty, bugged and slow cousin of tiktok. now think how crazy tiktok is. its has been developed with the core idea of stealing attention, its algorithm is super quick to pick up themes and now this shit is scary.
I lobbied my mates pretty aggressively to get off WhatsApp and onto Signal, thankfully it worked, so now we just don’t message each other there instead. Failing that, I would totally unilaterally uninstalled whataspp and told them to send me a text if needed, but I’m pretty antisocial at the best of times.

all it does is showing me the weather, playing some music, telling me when it’s time to turn left, then right after i gave it a destination point…oh, and i make calls with it…text me, if u can…
all in black 'n white screen mode only…no candy colours for me, thanx…
so, my smartphone is just a little more than the average burner dumb phone in daily life experience…just a tool in my pocket, NO daily distraction device…
