Has anyone else seen the preview for “LFO”? I spy with my little eye (amongst quick edits) a few elektron boxes and an op1. Looks like a guy figures out how to control people’s minds with a special LFO (I’ve been doing that shit for years ;). Actually looks pretty decent.
I’d link to it but I’m heading out the door. Y’all are savy internetists though.
Hi,
I’m the guy who made the film and I made most of the score with my A4, but also used the Octatrack and the OP-1. But that was more or less it and that was all I needed
Also, the film is out now in US, Canada, UK, Ireland and Sweden on VOD, DVD etc. If you want to support weird independent film about sound, please check it out! https://itunes.apple.com/movie/lfo/id926067598
Some quotes about the film: The Hollywood Reporter:“the right comic frequency in this witty sci-fi thriller about a mad scientist and his weapons of mass disruption. Twitch: “LFO is a diabolical joy to watch” [color=black]Sight and Sound: ”wryly banalised, tone-perfect scenario” Bloody Disgusting: ”Strange and Darkly Funny” [color=black]Filmschool Rejects: ”a fun watch all leading up to a killer finale” Ain’t it Cool News: "Full of quirk and dark comedy, LFO is a modern day tale of mad science"
Sweet! Just saw your reply Tublenco (haven’t been on elektronauts in a while). Yeah, saw the trailer and been keeping an eye out for it ever since. I’m in the US so I guess we just got it recently, as you said. Hoping I can find some time this weekend to check it out. Looking forward to it!
And though I haven’t seen the film yet I must say, well done on a damn serious undertaking-making a film AND scoring it. Keep it up!
Watched it a couple nights ago when it went up on Netflix. I certainly enjoyed it. I think all of us here will definitely appreciate the humour and inside jokes.
For those of you that are just hearing about this movie now: the movie is about a man who discovers how to hypnotize people with sound.
I thought I noticed the sound of an A4 during the credits. Guess I wasn’t paying attention enough to notice the entire soundtrack was just A4…
Thanks! I’m glad you guys liked it. Had a blast making it’s and always fun when you can use your toys
4.33: Not sure about Russia. I know it’s out on iTunes and Netflix in many countries. Also on Amazon Instant Video, Blockbuster, Sony, Vudu, Xbox, Google Play etc… I hope you can find it somewhere.
Hey Tublenco, got this from iTunes a couple of nights ago & watched it straight away. Really enjoyed it!
Soundtrack works really well, not too busy, compliments rather than distracts, very well done
Thanks for watching the movie!
The whole film was shot in just 10 days on a shoestring budget, but we had a blast making it. I suppose it’s pretty dark and sarcastic at times, but I guess that’s just my sense of humor
We just finished watching the film. I enjoyed it.
The the story reminded me somewhat of “The Euphio Question”, a short story by Kurt Vonnegut published in 1951.
I particularly enjoyed the humor in this film, and spotting all the techno references.
The logical conclusion was brilliant, as well. I look forward to your future projects!
