LFO a bit confusing?

Hey guys, i’m still having a little trouble wrapping my brain around how the LFO works exactly.

For example, giving an LFO a value of 4 with a multiplier of 2X what does that mean exactly in terms of speed? How is that different from a value of 1 with 8X?

What does the number represent steps? How many steps before the waveform repeated? And does the multiplier slow it down or speed it up?

The SPD value is the speed’s relation to the current tempo. 32 is one full cycle in 64 steps, and so 16 is two cycles in 128 steps etc… The multiplier, then multiplies the speed (duh), so speed of 32 and multiplier of x2 means two cycles in 64 steps (1 in 32) and x4 four cycles in 64 steps (1 in 16).

Your example of 4 x2 (=8) would be one full cycle in 256 steps, as it’s four times slower than 32x1.

Oh and negative speed means running the LFO backwards!

one cycle over 16 steps is 32 4
or 16 8
or 8 16

it can get confusing because speed only goes up to 63 as opposed to 64.
