I just bought some coloured plastic document sleeves from an office supply store and cut them up. I had blue, green and yellow as well but purple worked best for the OT. You could probably get better results using thinner, darker cellophane though—I can imagine blue, orange or even red cellophane would be quite nice.

Yeah I could totally see how familiarity would be king when choosing a keyboard and you might as well use what you have got.
Machinedrum UW is all that I am using atm, very happily though. Can definitely see myself buying a non-UW MD in the future just to double up on that wonderful drum synthesis. Also, having the sampling capabilities is a great thing but its a full, lush machine with out it and all that drum synth action really deserves all the attention at times.
