Leikkuri "First Cuts" ongoing series (New track each month)

Hello Elektronauts !

LEIKKURI is my new experimental music project in which I’m stitching sonic Frankensteins with ripped pieces of Techno Industrial, Noise, IDM, Ambient, Drone, Experimental & Post-Punk.

It’s the early stage, and I still need to discover the “voice” of the project.
To do so, I decided to make and release 1 track every month.
The idea is to not overthink and just do music, wherever it takes me.
Those tracks will probably be quite different from each other, even though I’m very much into experimental dark techno these days. (Perc Trax, Stroboscopic Artefacts, French label “In Paradisum”, Kangding Ray, Container etc…)

When I’ll feel the project is mature enough to do more focused stuff (EPs, Albums), everything will be regrouped in an album called “First Cuts” that will represent the childhood of the project

Also, with each track, I’ll release a sample pack of the sounds I used to make the previous month track. The samples will be free to use as you want.

(“Leikkuri” means “cutter” in Danish btw… the name comes from a Pan Sonic track)

The release of the 1st track is scheduled 3/3/2014 but I released a “prequel” yesterday: Track 00, the well named “False Start”

an invalid or disallowed start to a race, usually due to a competitor beginning before the official signal has been given.
• an unsuccessful attempt to begin something.

It’s kind of the weirdo of the pack since it mixes up so many influences & styles (from inviting whispers to distorted metal percussions) in the same track, but I guess it’s a good way to introduce the project even though the next tracks will be less « all over the place ».

I’m afraid that the Elektron boxes weren’t use at all in this one, it was all done in Ableton. I bought a Push controller last November soooo…
