So, I am the the hunt for MIDI controller, primarily for controlling auV3 and native Drambo instruments in Drambo (without opening it up in any other app such as AUM). Controlling parameters of my Digitone MK1 would be cool too. My focus is on live playing and tweaking, not recording or arranging complete tracks in a DAW. One of the major considerations, for me, is that the controller needs minimal computer support. The more I can do without a computer so far as mapping etc, the better. I really like some of the higher end offering such as the Rotocontroller and Electra Mini, a cheap alternative would be most resent offering of the Launch Control. Of those three which the least computer tethered? I do not mind firmware updates, but my primary “computer device” is an iPad, so having to access an actual computer all the time will be bummer for me.

The Neuzeit Drop is designed to be completely configurable sans computer. It’s expensive, but built like a tank and super flexible.
