Yeah, I’m not sure, it’s not something I’ve ever looked into. It would be really cool to be able to do though!
The weird thing with breath control for me is that when I first started out I had to be really conscious of where to breath, and my teacher would even pencil in spots for me to remember to take breaths, and then at some point it just became natural and I basically never think about it anymore and rarely seem to run out of breath. Sometimes I suddenly become aware of my breathing thinking, why do I still have this much air in my lungs? I don’t remember taking a breath. Haha.
I also think as my embouchure got better I waste a lot less air. For a while when playing high notes I was compensating for bad embouchure by blowing harder and then one day I was like, oh damn, I don’t have to do that and this is much easier and sounds better. Haha.
It’s also really cool when you can get into that zone where you’re looking at the sheet music and suddenly aware that your body is just doing everything without you even thinking. I never got to that stage on guitar, and was always blown away by musicians that could carry on a conversation with someone while continuing to play a song without missing a beat.
