Just received a leap motion sensor for Xmas. It is a technology in its infancy, but you can already feel the power. They have their own AppStore (a bit underpopulated at the moment, to be fair), so I shelled ten quids on geco midi controller software.
Well, wow.
You have something like 40 independent controller streams assignable to different parameters of your hands 3D motion. Tracking is not bad at all, once you get hold of the active sensing space. I definitely can be used in a musical way. And you can get all this for less than 100 bucks (around 90 for the sensors + 10 for the software).
To me this is great fun…
