That’s why they’re doing more multi-night residencies!
They can tune the space like WHOA, rent better gear, compromise less, and they’re at the point in their careers where they can draw people in for all nights, and the rest can flood in from the surrounding cities.
Better choosing, better connections, and they don’t have to rapidly travel from site to site, they can cool off, see family, let the gear slowly make it to the next stop for a while.
I understand from their point, but in my life there is no residency I would take part of. Not a single of the usual locations is even close to me (central Europe), and I’m not paying multiple hundreds of euro for a night
that’s a cool approach. if anyone knows the band Tortoise, they do this as well. have for like 20 years now. they used the Nord Lead for the same thing before that. they recorded using much crazier synths, but prefer not to tour with that.
I’m a huge Tortoise fan, they even use the microKorg (at least on one live session (on a roof)) probably as a bit of a stand-in for something from the studio
