So I’ve been working for quite some time now with my RME FIREFACE UC in my MBP M1 Via a preety cheep USB Hub, and of course I got some bad latency problems, and because of that I can only use direct monitoring Via Totalmix.
I’m currently trying do decide beetween investing in a fancy usb c hub like the “Caldigit” (which is very expensive and not ideal for me), or investing in a good Usb B to Usb c cable.
Any thoughts on that? I a good Usb B to C cable would fix the problem? is it reliable?

Would love to hear your opinions.

Good thing is to plug audio interface directly into laptop / pc, each new element between them could cause troubles.

Getting good reliable usb cable is a good idea, but it won’t remove delay unless the previous one was really really bad.

Also delay is managed on daw side so good idea to check daw audio settings.

You definitely should be avoiding hubs of any kind for an audio interface. Even a caldigit probably won’t be recommended by RME

I go straight into a usb c port on my M1 MacBook with the usb b to usb c cable that came with my RME fireface ufx

Use the usb hub for your other devices, give the RME its own port

Yea that was my thought also, sadly I did not get any usb cable.
any suggestions on good cable? one from a reliable company?

You’re probably better off asking on the RME forum, they’re pretty helpful over there.

I imagine most non cheap ones from Amazon will work. But RME sell a replacement if you didn’t get one in the box, or bought pre usb c being available

Also bear in mind your latency might be something else entirely. But definitely test it without a hub first

Great!
Thx
