I’ve thought about this for a while, but after being frustrated with the dark red print on the black Syntakt I bought a used e25 version with is much easier for my eyes to see. Initially I was going to sell my black Syntakt but now I am thinking about keeping both. Anyway…
I’d like to find a laptop cooling pad wide enough to hold 2 of any combination of Syntakt, Digitakt and Digitone. The devices are 8.5” wide so that a pair would be 17”. The largest laptop pad I have found is for a 17” DIAG computer and only measures 16.5” wide. Is this wide enough for a pair of Digi’s? Has anyone here bought one that they recommend? Is there a better option for somethng other than a laptop pad? I do want to use it in my lap.
The quarter of an inch of overhang on either side in your description won’t be enough to disturb the balance of something with the weight and as low a center of gravity of one of these digi type boxes has. I question whether or not the noise of the fans will be of more detriment than the benefit of the cooling, not sure about lap comfort and also whether or not the stand is built for the combined weight considering most laptop computers are pretty lightweight and most of those cooling stands aren’t manufactured to any kind of super tight tolerance for quality. Probably fine for a while at least.
If I were really into the idea of 2 digi’s on my lap on the couch, I’d probably consider something like this but it’s a bit expensive for my preference, not that it isn’t worth it for the quality but simply that some costs I’m willing to spring for and others I might live with a little discomfort to save the money.
