Thanks ! What a simple, cheap and perfect device for my use
Doesn’t the Arturia Keystep (and possibly Beatstep?) also convert midi to CV/gate? Possibly a bit more expensive, but more features?
In fact, I saw a Thomann special black edition for sale for quite a bit cheaper than the original Keystep in their anniversary sale, for probably around the same price as the SQ-1?
You’re surely right but I need something small to expend my Hapax CV/Gate capacities without going to eurorack. Sq1 seems to be the perfect solution to me.
No, don’t take my word for it - I’m definitely a case of “A little learning is a dangerous thing”
Hi,
I found a SQ1 and, like I explained before in this thread, I want to use it as midi to CV converter to add 2 more CV/Gate outputs to my Hapax (for having two 10V gate outputs instead of 5V ones).
I tried with the Hapax USB Host and an Hapax DIN output (via MioXL USB port) to send midi clock and transport to SQ-1 but it doesn’t seem to work. My settings are ok in the Hapax (transport, clock, midi channel number).
Has anyone ever tried with an other midi device than a computer ?
Edit : I tried with Ableton Live Lite 11 and it worked. SQ-1 receive and follow midi clock and transport. It also transmit midi notes and clock to CV/Gate outputs and Sync OUT.
I wonder why it does not work with the Hapax (also tried and failed with Elektron devices) ?
Thanks
only thing i can think of is that theres 2 sq-1 devices that shows up in the DAW, maybe your usb-midi host uses the wrong one?
And same happens with mioXL, you must be right
Have to find another solution. Eurorack here I come !
Edit : after hours of snooping on the subject, a beatstep pro will do the trick and I will stay far away from eurorack
