has anyone had tuning issues?
Yesterday, I realized some weirdness and right now I am sending E2 via USB to MPC Software and this is what the tuner reads:
A1 ?
B3?
G2 is fine:
In fact as far as I can tell right now it’s all E’s, B’s and A’s that have this slightly annoying problem…
I know there are many incredibly technical and experienced people on this forum. Should I do more tests? What other tests? Could it be due to the VST being crap? How do I know if SQ-64 is out of tune or not? (I don’t have an oscilloscope - I guess time to buy one?)

Wait I’m confused, sq-64 is just a sequencer. It can’t be “out of tune”. What are you measuring?
What vst? What date? (Doesn’t it have a native tuner? Ableton has)
MPC Hardware can be be rather tricky when receiving Midi. I don’t know if this occures to the MPC Software too. So the “problem” might not be the SQ-64.
Oh, mpc… Overlooked that.
Hm. Just sequencing a synth chromatically, check if it works as expected, then you should know if it’s the sq-64 or the mpc?
Alternatively connecting to your phone and checking with an app which notes are received over midi?
(On android midi connector free)
Not sure what an oscilloscope would help if you are sending midi data over usb.
So i tried Ableton tuner with different VSTs and the result is the same… i also tried to sequence my Softpop 2 via MIDI and used Ableton tuner to read the results. It’s the similar issue…
Thats what i thought too how a sequencer can need tuning. I don’t know what is going on and unfortunately i dont have enough technical knowledge to solve this "problem " on my own. I will check YouTube and Google if there’s something to see out there.
Hm… Could it be that you have a scale feature activated that automatically maps the note to the scale/key selected?
Other then that …puh, no idea.
