Korg nts-1 mk2

Loopop mentions it in the video linked above as a desired firmware update.

Not backwards compatible? So no plugins form SineVibes etc? Terrible update in my opinion, more than happy with my MK1.

Sinevibe said that he will port his plugins to new sdk.

this update hits where it matters most, and then some. amazing.
i cant believe they also dopped nts kaoss. love nts series.

That korg nts-3 kaos pad looks interesting
Very weird how they didn’t add the dsp into that recent new kaos pad horrendous thing from a few months ago

Added new thread

I hope so, they did say they would for the Drumlogue but it didn’t happen- maybe the Drumlogue and NTS MK2 are now the same SDK (which is now different to monologue and prologue synths?)

I feel like that silly $1000 dollar Kaoss Pad thing would have been better received if they announced it alongside the NTS Kaoss.

But yeah, the NTS Kaoss looks like what I wanted from the Kaoss Pad Quad(provided there’s midi)

I expect we’ll see Mk2 versions of the 'logue family in the coming days, as well

i guess it’s as flimsy as mk1.
would love a rubber case for those who actually use it, sometimes even live.

Sync ports are apparently midi/sync configurable

ā€a dedicated I/O pair of 3.5-millimeter TRS audio jacks, and a switchable, dual-function Sync and MIDI I/O pair for immensely expanded controlā€

Now the NTS-3 Kaoss pad is super interesting! I’m in and have no problem forgetting about it until June. Looks like an awesome little fx buddy!

Yeah but it just saves the last state … a small upgrade but a good one nonetheless.

As far as it looks, my MKI still suits my needs, the sequencer and Keys are the biggest upgrades that I’d use.

Thats amazing!

I have no idea why Korg decided to remove midi from the quad and instead use the audio bpm sync

At least it’s been rectified(even more since I’ve been looking at and considering the quad for performances

in the presentation video i saw that IO is through soldered, instead of surface mount like in the original. which was the most common point of failure.

My usb port and midi port failed within 1 week on my original NTS-1. That issue combined with the knob jumps, lack of battery, and inability to save settings doomed it for me. I paid $90 new, was offered a replacement, and declined in favor of a refund. Hopefully this MKII will be what the original should have been in a number of way, although it is very strange that they didn’t include a connector on the board for a small lithium ion battery to be added by the user, in the same way the Retrokits RK-008 did… and this price jump is extremely unwelcome. I won’t be purchasing this one.

Defo don’t want to turn this into a ā€œwhat was wrong with the MKIā€ thread, but suffice it to say an improved USB connection might be worth the price.

I love the little bugger, especially now running it through the feedback channel on a Bestie … but that usb connection gives me nightmares.

I’m a little shocked they didn’t include at least like 16 customizable on-board presets or something.

Yeah it was a cool little box and sounded good. If they had kept the price at $100 I would be interested, improved durability for the connections is good but is also sort of a bare minimum kind of thing.
