Koala Sampler App

Well, not exactly what I was looking for, but very helpful nevertheless! Didn’t know about this. Thanks so much. And thanks @dmori for the CC info

You’ve said “from right to left”, (it’s L to R!) .Just tried it - great hidden feature! Thanks again.
Just occurred to me as I was playing with it, that in order to make a longer “song” I could disable the auto-play function while it was playing the sequence that I wanted to prolong….it works, but it’s cutting it very fine! Not much time to do it, and if you don’t disable it in time, then the opportunity is missed.
Anyone else tried this, and have any advice?

You could just double up a sequence until it plays as many times as you want it to play before moving on to the next one.

Yes, I thought of this, but I make tracks with many ,many changes and variations. Something like a lock button on the sequence page that can be just toggled on and off (in conjunction with the auto-play function) would be ideal.
Thanks for the suggestion though

Oh FSS sorry!!! :flushed:

Yes left to right! I don’t know what was thinking.

I understand that this is not an elegant solution but couldnt you double up the sequence and then edit it to your heart’s content?

You can map sequences to pads or buttons if that would help

Ha - sorry, I replied before scrolling down and realise that this isn’t what you were wanting (understandably!)

Sorry @get.up.trinity , not sure what you mean. Can you explain please?

@PeteSasqwax - well, yes I would like to be able to do that, using an external controller, but that would involve midi CC right? My brain forbids me from understainding midi CC. I just don’t get it…One thing is like CC31, then the next one is CC113, then CC 84…it just makes my brain hurt :flushed:

Double tap the sequence click the “1 BAR” button and then DOUBLE UP to make a sequence as long as you want

Right, and once you’ve done that, you can edit any party of the lengthened sequence.

Whole new worlds opening up in Koala! The thought of pairing it with an external controller, like the Synido thing that @PeteSasqwax mentioned upstream, makes me really question whether I can justify keeping the DT2 (which, fwiw, like the DN2 I find incredibly unintuitive and frustrating)…

One of the things about Koala that I really appreciate is one thing people like to discredit the iOS music making process for - the glass.

Unlike Maschine/MPC, the glass requires only the most featherweight of touches to trigger a pad, which IMO makes it incredibly precise… no finger drumming workout which I like.

The mooger foogers are really nice. Here I have a saturator, murf, and clusterflux.

I like that I can see the waveforms on the pads. I prefer the screen over pads for that reason

Did we just got a plate reverb? This is so cool! :sunglasses:

V2.0.0 just dropped

  • plate reverb bus effect
  • pull down in the load screen to search songs
  • made left right fine-tuning on knobs less jumpy with really slow movements.
  • Fixed EQ bus-effect band types not surviving save/load
  • lots and lots of performance enhancements and bug fixes. thx so much to the beta team!!
