Hello Fellows, did anyone found a way to assign AUv3 instrument output to a channel on the mixer or only goes to the Master
Same as with samples: Edit → Mix → Choose Bus
Dohhh, I must have been blind. Thank you very much ![]()
I didn’t have “Show EQ” enabled in settings on my phone, that is why I didn’t see the “Mix” tab.
Yeah, the way they implemented this opened a sequencer rabbit hole. And it’s true, to really take advantage of it, automation and midi is now needed. I just hope, this won’t be the beginning of some convoluted “Koala DAW”.
Btw., any suggestions for an AUv3 synth with a GUI made for a phone? So far, the most usable I found is Zeeon, but it’s also a bit large. At least it’s readable, everything else was unusable small on iPhone mini.
The Audiokit synths are. They are typically broken up into pages/sections, avoid over-crowding and (I believe) the fonts are typically very readable.
Although I own most of them, I don’t love the Audiokit aesthetic, but they sound great. And they’re extremely well optimized for iPhone.
Dagger is an amazing mono synth from the same dev as Zeeon (and Drambo and Otoo and Sunrizer for that matter). Interface is pretty minimal and it sounds awesome.
I like Bleass Monolit for whatever it’s worth. Tis a beauty
+1 for the Bleass UI.
I don’t think I will be using many instruments in depth in Koala. More likely I will load up, sample them, then unload. Anything else is a bit too convoluted for me.
If I want to automate stuff, I’ll host Koala in Drambo and do it there.
did marek officially cut off androids with this update?
he was super adamant that android and ios worked the same
There are no AUv3 plugins on Android, no?
Tnx, AudioKit J6 is actually pretty usable as a AUv3 even on a phone screen. Dagger’s controls are too small on an iPhone mini, but otherwise really good UI and great sound. It was actually the first plugin I tried in it.
Same here. Koala for me stays a sampler and AUv3 support is just an easier way to sample/resample apps, without having to use AUM. Still, there will be complaints about it, now that it can do it.
But hey, there were complaints before because it couldn’t do it too ![]()
there are plugins, but its not auv3.
i know marek was all about parity oringally
so yeah, im asking if the deviation just started. and i dont think the deviation would be bad long term. actually, bad for android people, beneficial for ios users.
Definitely happy to have them, if only so I don’t have to set up AUM just to sample from Radio Unit.
I’m also interested in putting Koala FX on all four mix channels, so I can have the built-in delay only affect the hats, say, or use the chopper/stutter only on vocal samples.
I apologize in advance if that was discussed before, but I thought that would be nice to add to the Probability in the sequencer - >Trigger Logic
trigger or not every Nth count

So can you assign each pad in Koala to the physical pads on the Synido?
And if yes, can you use the Synido to switch from say Bank A, to Bank B and then those 16 pads would be on the Synido?
Yes, absolutely - all of the above! The bank buttons are the icing on the cake!
Sweet. Thanks for swift response! Another question; one thing that’s always bugged me about Koala is the way you have to tap your finger on the next sequence. It seems so clumsy. Don’t suppose there’s a way to go to the next sequence (like Ableton clips) by using the Synido?
I suspect that this is just the way Koala functions by the way….
Would be so, so helpful if there was just a “>” and a “<“ button so that you could hit that, and then it would switch to the next (or previous) sequence on the next beat/bar whatever…
I’m just guessing here, but seems like to me, maybe there won’t be any more deviation than this.
Because, there is still parity of a kind, the same features, just only built-in FX on Android, and built-in FX + AUv3’s on Apple.
So perhaps they’ll remain close or identical in features added after this!
Yes, Each sequence can be midi mapped via note or MIDI CC.
In the Sequence drop down menu where you choose Tempo etc, there is a sub menu that says Seq Snap. At the bottom there is an option to check a box that says Auto-Play. This is a rudimentary “Song Mode” of sorts that will play any filled sequence in order (top sequence row from LEFT TO RIGHT, then bottom sequence row right to left etc).
EDIT* I realized right after posting that this isn’t really what you’re looking for. I’ll leave it just in case, though.
