Turns out it was my router being a bit over zealous rather than a windows or app problem, solved it by forwarding the ports the app and live communicate on… job done…
Mine connect fine on my home router but not in my studio. Any tips?
First thing to try is putting your iPads ip address in the host field in the max device, that worked for me but was inconsistent, sometimes it would connect other times it would hang, next step is go into your routers admin page and look for the advanced settings page, go to the firewall section and there should be a section to add a port forwarding rule, you need to select the device that you want to allow traffic to and for the port range 2436/2437 on both the internal and external ports… that’s what worked for me… also my router had extended upnp protection switched on so I disabled that, all routers have different settings available so ymmv…
Had a chat with Zack the guy who made the app earlier he was super helpful, real nice guy, if all else fails you can email him and he’ll do his best to help you… there’s a contact email address on the knobbler web page

@binaural any chance that this would happen? seems perfect but I would like to mix the faders with buttons for example?
You should ask Zack about stuff like this, I’m not in the position (nor do I have the technical knowledge 
) to answer. Zack’s busy perfering the system constantly btw.
Knobbler has just been updated with a fresh pricing policy, it’s now £49 lifetime IAP, I just checked my install and even though I’ve already paid for it it’s now in 30 day trial mode, so yeah if your upset about that like I am then email Zachary to let him know…

Can’t even get a refund of the original purchase through the app store either… ticks me off when Devs do this…

Is there not a ‘Restore’ previous IAP button? if indeed it was previously IAP , maybe you bought the app previously. Sometimes rebuying the IAP will tell you you’ve already bought this and get it for free, although I guess that’s can be a gamble if it’s not clear.
No there’s not a restore purchase option and I’m not gonna risk £49 quid on pushing the purchase button…

As far as I know it has something todo with Knobbler now offers a trail version.
I don’t think you have to pay again when purchased in the past.
Usually he is very quick in responding and clearing things up.
Just heard back from him, it’s a glitch and has been resubmitted, we’re getting grandfathered…

That doesn’t surprise me. Everything about the dev seems very legit. I follow the Knobbler subreddit and he’s very transparent and detailed about the project.

Yeah he’s always been great when I’ve had a problem, just seemed a bit of bolt from the blue, had me ruffled, admittedly I’m not on my A game right now, more of a C minus,… anyhow it’s all in hand… I overeacted…
