Hi,
if I edited a kit and than change the pattern connected to another kit and than returning to the edited pattern it seems like the changes made on the sounds are lost. Does that mean I have to save the kit everyone before changing the pattern?
I think you have to save the current Kit as a new Kit first each time you want to make adjustments to the patterns associated with it
It shouldnāt happen the way the OP wrote it. However, thereās two things to bear in mind:
- when you start a new pattern, the AR will temporarily assign the same kit from the last pattern you were on. The kit name (top left) will flash. If youāre happy to keep using this kit, you can keep going (but any changes will be heard on other patterns that use the same kit). If you donāt want to use that kit, you need to pick a new one. I often clear the current kit and explicitly save the āresetā one to a new name.
- if you save the project, or turn off the AR, the current kit will automatically saveā¦ but none of the others youāve made changes to. If you want all the kits you used that session to be saved, you have to do it manually before powering down.
I suspect the OP got caught between one or other point. Itās good advice to save your kit when you make a change you like.
If you change between patterns using different kits, any unsaved kit changes are lost.
If you change between patterns using the same kit, then unsaved changes are retained.
There is an option in the Globals somewhere called something like āReload kit on pattern changeā. If that is on, then all kit changes are lost when you change patterns, even if both patterns use the same kit.
As others said, itās always best to hit the [YES]+[KIT] shortcut when youāre happy with the sounds.
