Bought a Kingston Compact Flash 16GB Ultimate (266x):

this morning, and my OT won’t see it. The OT freezes completely - none of the buttons work at all.

I believe these are the cards that the OT ships with these days, so it should work. Can anyone confirm this?

I tried the card in a USB card reader connected to a MacBook and it’s not detected there either, while the original card from the OT (the old Transcend 4GB) works fine in both the OT and the card reader.

I’m fairly certain it’s a dud card, but is there anything I might be missing?

The card was bought new and sealed from a large and reputable local tech shop and didn’t come from eBay, so I’m certain it’s a legit card and not some shonky fake.

Yup, bought mine in June and it came with this exact card. Definitely sounds like the card’s borked since you’ve tried it with two different devices.

I’ve always had great results with Kingston but inevitably duds do crop up. I would get another one if this one’s bad. Hopefully your tech shop should be able to make amends.

Yep. Took the card back and exchanged it and the new one works fine. :joy:

same here! got the kingston 16gb 266x shipped with my octratrack … and it was complete emtpy … no 2gb samples.

Everytime turning the octratrack on, it reminds me to mount a set … so i creat a new set, mount it. Then switching to usb mode, transfering samples into octra track and a “parse error” occours … and … after that CF card is complete empty again
