yep - i use the audio out of my motu for this purpose - this raises an interesting point with the A4 platform though - where would elektron stand if you forgot your outs were set to cv (up to +/-10V) and you wasted some external gear by feeding it something vastly hotter than an audio signal - it’s all a bit risky potentially (no pun intended)[/quote]
(watch your ears) You can run CV LFOs on the a4 at audio rate and send them back in. why? sine waves.
It’s also good for more noise, like with random and just generally sounding nasty, imo, a good way.
AikiGhost:
Sorry off topic, but the two together is the best (my favorite) sequencer ever. come on, they’re color co-ordinated. i think they’re each supremely terrible at doing what the other does, which is fantastic if you desire the functionality that one has, not so much if you don’t.

#toptip cheers, i’d forgotten seeing something pre-purchase someone posted about making kicks with that routing - exciting m(aud)ulation fun ahead
I spend hours on each song, so a few minutes to record each track from the A4 separately is no big deal. It means I pay more attention to that particular part I am recording.
Maybe if I was Manuel Göttsching recording an 1 hour long session of E2-E4 I would think “It would be useful” but just record all four parts together, or separately and splice them together to form one long piece. Otherwise, is it really that much of a big deal? I see multiple outs as a convenience, but you guys might have different workflows and other needs.
Ah, the infamous OT headphone issue. If your headphone output was faulty from the beginning, like mine was, and Elektron couldn’t fix it with 2 attempts, they should give you a brand new unit without question. Effectively they’ve sold you (& me) a unit unfit for purpose. How long did it take for you to realise the headphone output was dodgy?

could someone explain what the issue is, very clearly - i’ve almost done the deal on one ! don’t want to have any surprises in case this can be pre-checked
(sorry to spoil the flow of the A4 thread) !
[EDIT] found the e-u thread - so it hasn’t been resolved for some !!! oh dear, design problem ?
I only realised my first OT had the headphone fault after about 9 months. I’d never used the headphone output but read about the issues on EU. Too late for me to ask the retailer or Elektron for a new replacement so it got returned & fixed under warranty. I have 2 OTs & the 2nd has no headphone issue at all.
