Hi, I’m having an issue with a Keystep 37 that keeps triggering samples loops despite having the OT in MIDI mode. It’s triggering audio regardless of the MIDI channel selected. Thanks…
This is normal.
Channels triggering audio are set in MIDI > Channels
Defaults are 1-8. They can be set to off or other channels.
You can set your Keystep to Auto Channel (11 by default), preferably different from audio channels…

Thanks for that. A bit weird having the audio triggering from OT MIDI menu. Would have taken sometime to work that one out. G

Absolutely normal to continue to trigger audio tracks with midi while in midi mode imo. And that way you can control audio tracks with midi tracks (slices with arp for instance).

Something more surprising is that if midi tracks and audio tracks have the same channel, midi tracks can’t receive midi, and audio tracks can’t send midi (knobs, buttons and crossfader).
I found channel 9 on the Keystep got things going, I may have changed it to accommodate my Analog Four II which is set to 11. Either way, they’re happily working together now. Thanks for the link, I’ll have a look. G
I’m still having issues with Keystep 37. It’s going into a ‘midi merge’ to send to FOUR and OT MK2, which has a couple of synths. The idea is to have a reasonably sized KB to send note to both sequencers. I’m not having much luck with any permutation of the micro-switches for routing at the back. I was hoping that either midi or usb would do the trick sadly 
I’m finding the FOUR triggering despite the channel number selected on the keystep.
The set up is
RYTM>FOUR>OT (OT uses 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15 & 16 trying avoid conflict with the others).
The Merge accepts a clock from my DAW to the Rytm and keystep input. A midi thru box is served from the midi out to the controlled synths.

Sorry it is a bit late for me to answer, I’d need some clarification about your midi setup routing merge box reference etc.
And using usual Elektron “acronyms” like AR, A4, OT…would also help me, or anyone reading maybe…
(FOUR means oven in French, too hot to talk about it these days ! 
)
I may have sorted it, but I’ll give a couple of days. Changing the auto midi channel on the analog quatre mk2 to 11 may have helped.
