About filesystem : void’s applications are worth checking for they simplify samples handling.
Still, it’s not that hard/weird.
Pads are the coolest thing for mute/solo, Scenes and Performence.
Pure live beat fingering is not very doable IMO. Maybe the velocity curve is not ideal for this.
But it’s sufficient for hitting a little beat and start from here.
A second hand QuNeo might be used as a workaround…
Didn’t get your vignette consideration… A bit too elusive for me. Mind clarifying ?
As all Elektrons the built qualitiy of the AR is to last a long time. It compares to the OT.
The pads have a good quality. They feel good. The rubber material is not too soft nor too hard. For finger drumming I would prefer to have them larger and their dynamics more adaptable. Lying Dalai has described the usability of the pads very good and to the point.
The “file system” is split in “Projects”, “Samples”, and “Sounds”. We have 128 Projects and projects include patterns, kits, sounds for the particular project etc. There is a computer-like directory/file structure for organising samples. Sounds are organised in a traditional system of banks of 128 sounds each. That’s it. For me it takes too much time to upload samples to the AR via C6, but since I don’t do this every day, it’s an inconvenience only.
If you want to dig in deaper, I recommend to download the manual, which is excellent IMO, and flip through the one or other section. If you are familiar with the OT already, it will be no challenge, but you might find the occasional and particular feature that is different or special.
