Mostly that on one end it’s a happy accident machine while at the same time being a tweakers delight if you want to be very purposeful.

Also that it can have multiple roles. Right now I’m using at as a drum machine while also processing the Digitone.

And scenes, the crossfader, parts, the flexible recording buffers….🥹

Edit: Also, that I can be at work minding my own business and randomly an idea will appear like ‘Oh wait, I could do this with the OT…’ It’s that kind of a machine to me :upside_down_face:

I threw in some drum and perc loops, hooked up my A4 and just jammed around with scenes and some resampling stuff. I bought the OT to be the brain of a minimal techno live setup, seems like a perfect match so far.

Bad times started today, seems my cf card is corrupted which lets the OT freeze when turned on :sob:

Oh no… Is it one of those Octacards?

If you boot into test mode, do you get ATA: NO INT?

Here’s a thread with me crying about losing a ton of work: Dead CF card - back up your projects!

I opened a support ticket and they sent me a better card at no cost.

No issues with my unit. Every once in a while I run a test. My understanding is that this error doesn’t indicate that anything is wrong with your Octatrack – just with the card.

If you reach out to support they’ll hook you up with a better card – they’re still branded “Octacard”, but they’ve assured me it’s a different manufacturer.

The worst part of this is losing work. At least you only lost weeks of work and not months/years. This is a good reminder to back up! I backed up my OT yesterday actually :slight_smile:
