Looks gorgeous ! I like the idea of having a “transition trick” button, which would automatically sample the current pattern into a record buffer and set the crossfader to morph between the current pattern and the record buffer.

Heh, Dom, hope you don’t mind me copying your idea – at first I was ‘oh no’, considering the commotion around the Octatrack lately, but then I realized it was actually a really cool thought experiment

Making the pic was a fun excercise, and highlighted the fact that the user interface is such a complex system – if you move one set of buttons a few inches, some button combos become that much harder, etc.

I also started to think about things that’d be nice to have. And some sort of randomization / humanize / variation settings would be at the top of my list.
