This thing looks amazing… and the biggest thing of all… playing slices via keyboard! Velocity sensitive! Also, individual stereo outs for each 8 track. Plus, in addition to original 4 Octatrack inputs will be a 13-bit A/D input (E/F).
This is some Photoshop wet dream, right? Because in part I want this, and in part I’d be really pissed if this was a thing.
EDIT: Also, all that space and a little screen and so few knobs?
Naw, I don’t need keys on an Octa sampler, I need more crazy performance control. Gimme more X-faders and sound design options. Maybe it’s Photoshop, maybe it’s Maybelleine, but other than Overbridge I don’t think I’d really want anything more on the OT besides Overbridge.
The more I look at this the more funny it is.
The unnecessary number of trig buttons gives it away and look at the spacing. Not to mention the copy and paste of the knob section. The 5 octave keyboard. The plethora of missed opportunities like no individual bank select buttons and no Rytm style drum pads etc…
If it was real it would be a disaster.
I preordered one! When is out? Its really unacceptable that its taking so long for the unit to get to me!
I really hope it has granular engine, better pick up machines, overbridge, 256 voices polyphony, 64 tracks and unlimited OS updates with unlimited features. Otherwise I will return it…
lol One of the 1st things that came to my mind, looking at your figure was “What the point of having a 5 octave keyboard, whereas the OT can only play chromaticaly over 2 octaves !”
