It’s about a mixer i can have for a low price: bst activ 25
Just to put my MK, A4 and mpc (which has a hum… (maybe cables?)) together without making an horrible sound chain that hums a lot and were not good in terms of equalization.
I didn’t find any manual or specs…
Do you have one?
Is it better than nothing or should i keep my money for anything else?
Thanks
Hello Tobey - What is your price range? DJ mixers can do this too but you won’t have balanced connections which means that if you are having odd audio anomalies i.e. odd or unexpected changes in your sound that you aren’t intentionally making as easily dismissed as misuse and not other interference.
Well, i’ve told my cousin to take it for me 20€, pretty cheap. I can make you a report if you want. If i understand well, mixer can help me avoid sound anomalies, but i shouldn’t expect magical tricks ^^
Do you think mixers equalizer can help me mastering my machines?
You should explain how you have connected everything to know what’s going on with the cables.
Try to buy good cables for connecting your gear, probably one of the cheaper things to use on your setup but not less important.
Yes better cables is a must. Whenever they (Elektron) mentions balanced outputs or inputs they are talking about TRS connectors they look like regular 1/4" ones but with two rings instead of one.
Mixer for 20 Euros, that’s impossible. Mackie, Yamaha make some nice affordable ones for under $1,000.00 USD
No need to use balanced cables for short runs. Using a DJ mixer could be good and a lot more fun with the big faders. As long as the mixer is in good condition and has enough inputs, it’ll be better than chaining everything. The EQs may not be terribly useful, but at least you’ll get everything connected up.
