Joystick range issue with pitchbend and breath control

Hi guys,

Firstly, I love the AK and hope anyone who had this issue can chime in.

Seems there is a something wrong with the joystick not covering the entire 0-127 midi values on both pitch bend and breath controller.

Pitchbend range won’t go higher than 124
Breath controller won’t go higher than 120

Also when setting the depth to 12 in the pitch bend menu (sound settings), you would expect to have the range of an octave up and down right? I get the octave down perfectly but I’m almost a semi-tone flat on the octave up.

Anybody had this problem? Or am I missing something?

I already tried updating the OS to 1.12E but got stuck with messages “UI updating, don’t turn off… UI updated please restart”… restarting… “UI updating, don’t turn off… UI updated please restart”… restarting… etc.

So I’m back to 1.12B but with a bad joystick.

no sure about the joystick, but being unable to flash the firmware is definitely a bad sign

I also noticed my joystick doesn’t quite hit full range.

NB it has to be exactly aligned along the x axis and pushed fully right - quite tricky, but yeah even so it doesn’t quite hit the full range.

I wonder if this is something a calibration routine might fix?

Got a support ticket opened about this. So I should get additional info pretty soon. I’ll repost about this once the issue is fixed.

Hi Rod! I have the same “Please restart” problem after the OS upgrade to 1.12E. How did you go back to 1.12B?

Had the OS update issue when I was trying sending sysex with the Midisport2x2. Strangely, doing the update with an old 828mk2 instead solved my problem.

As for the joystick issue, calibration was not going to fix the problem. So the AK needed to be sent to the repair center in LA. My retailer (Moog Audio) was kind enough to replace my AK and take care of sending it in LA for me.
