I was lucky enough to catch this set as part of Decibel Festival, really motivating to watch what he was doing. Just an OT and A4 too.

awesome - love John Tejada, he has been using Elektrons for a long time…
Watching and listening right now…Nice! I have a couple of albums of him on vinyl…nice to see him in action on only two Elektrons!
Thanks for this link!

Like this music or not (I love it) this is surely an inspiration to any Elektron user. Brilliant set.
Thanks for posting Tarekith.
An inspiring set from a master. Thanks for the post Tarekith!
Cenk & Jon, if you’re listening, IMHO this would be a perfect time to request a short Q/A with J.T. about how he put this set together. I for one would be curious to hear about approach to composition, sound design, stem creation (esp. in the box vs. out), use of outputs, and preplanned structure vs. options for improv.
Just finished listening to this was great… love the stuff put out by Kompakt… Very polished set but feel it was a bit constraint due to no going out of the boundaries…
Thanks for the link Tarekith. One of my musical heros. Have to watch this at home.
Honestly I felt the same way about all the artists that night. Great music, but nothing too surprising either.
Thomas Fehlmann has a set up on that site from the same event too, the link is on the right side of the page too.

I forwarded your question to John, and here is what he said:
There’s actually a little video I made for a local company while doing some prep for the show. It explains much better than words. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdRQb5JG9Tk
What I can say is the songs are re-intepreted for live. I use the Analog 4 to
recreate a lot of parts and create new ones. I try to keep the Octatrack free from just loading stems, instead loading individual hits or sounds and recreating lines. The Octatrack’s cool feature of saving whatever I do makes the set evolve from set to set and many times I keep the changes.
In the Analog 4 I will go into record mode pretty often and do some live param locks or new notes. I’m actually just using the stereo outs of each box.
Thanks Jon!
Although this makes me really want an A4 now.
Thanks for sharing this!
Awesome thanks for sharing. He is coming to Sydney in November, I will check to see if he is playing the Elektrons!!
Thanks again Jon, and hope you’ll pass along our thanks to John as well!
