I was too busy for the last few days to post jams, but I did manage to write some lyrics, made a beat and today recorded the vocals and “jammed” everything together.
What came out is my first kind of trap(-ish) song. It’s in my native language, but you might understand a word or two anyway, since there are some familiar/foreign words in there too
Funny you bring this up because the track I just uploaded was edited in Cubase a bit. I thought I might be breaking the rules also, but it seems the only rule is to try and make music daily! Keep em coming.
Fun little tune using Digitone 2, Machinedrum, and Roland TR8S. I did a bit of sample chopping, glitched some percussion, and general editing in Cubase after recording to spice it up a little more. I really like this one. Enjoy!
My goal today was to have a more clear melody, as I tend to just mumble the root note of a chord and call that a melody. My challenge was actually hitting the notes! Sample is ice breaking in my hands as I lift it up to record a more interesting sample.
This track is made using Bitwig and the Hive 8 bit anthem chiptune expansion. It is using NES and C64 style sounds.
The aim is to create a sense of wonder and adventure by using a combination of major and diminished chords. The intention is to evoke a cute adventure game where a character is exploring a wood to find an enchanted pool.
It’s very influenced by the music of Zelda especially the fairy pool theme which I’ve borrowed the descending harp idea from.

a short one for today. i have not been feeling well so this is lower effort than usual. instead of not turning anything in, i tried doing something extremely quick and “easy” – resample random playing on an fm synthesizer, arrange into somewhat of a melody, light mixing and effects and voila. the equivalent of a napkin sketch.
After being a day ahead, now a day behind, so these two cover Saturday and Sunday.
First is another learning jam on the OP-XY. Recorded into the Tonverk dry.
Second is really a manifestation of the Syntakt Science Lab mindset, three analog tracks in turn on the ST, with lots of live tweaking, captured via the OverBridge app.
Decided to make something more simple and melodic. Not sure how it’ll sound on phone speakers, but I really liked the way the bass (nymphes on mono again) interacted with the (hydra) lead, so I rode the filter on the nymphes a little. I think the vocal sample in the third act might be too loud btw, jumpscare warning.
