Isn't the Digitone II the most incredible and deep instrument from Elektron so far?

Koala over USB. Set the DNIIs inputs to EXT and you’ll get a clean sampling interface for the app, make a MIDI channel preset for it, it maps easily too. Been rock solid as much as I’ve been using it the last couple months.

This thread combined with the dub chord thread has me seriously gassing for a DN2, luckily I can’t afford it right now, as I really don’t need it but would bite the bullet if I had money burning a hole in my pocket.

I keep looking at some of my other gear with evil intentions of selling it so I can get a DT2. Then my life will be complete… oh look, a squirrel!

Ooooh I forgot about the dub chord thread!!
Excelent idea for resources!

I had to sell my beloved steam deck oled and conjoure up some Ozora gig money to be able to buy it. I wanted to buy some proper studio monitors for once that I wanted for 10 years now, but I guess those can wait another 10 years

No regerts though

ah yes, my steam deck… :eyes:

Any chance you need a new one?

@natehorn rip that chord and do it. Honestly, it really is an amazing bit of kit.

There’s always some unnecessary organs you can sell :man_shrugging:

Limiting yourself to one instrument is a pretty good idea though, I feel like you can master it more naturally than having a lot of half learned stuff to choose from.

Especially with the DN2, which now stands pretty firmly on it’s own legs as a standalone groovebox.

Elektron changed my music production journey once again

I knew I was far away from getting everything I could out of it when I sold mine.

I was happy to downsize but can imagine getting another in the future.

cool to see all the positivity towards it and also look forward to your output on it @FigittyFau

Oh but a Moog sits so well with Digitone sounds!

My L/R inputs are Subsequent 37 and a DFAM/M32 patch. Digitone2 is drums and auxiliary synth needs, its easy for me to get lost for a long time improvising with this setup just reprogramming the drum pattern and moog sequencers, with random Sub37 flailing sprinkled in there. Working out a good Koala project to go along with it, all running through Heat+FX :fire:

@FigittyFau I like your Digitakt stuff and am stoked to see what else you do with Digitone 2!

I joined the Elektronaut family with a Digitakt, I never properly let myself look at the Digitone with the rationale that I’m more about subtractive synthesis than FM.

Last year I made a natural transition to the Digitakt II, which I love, and have been trying to adjust my collection of synths around it sequenced by the DTII to fit a smaller setup that I can take to EMOM gigs. So I’ve been searching for the perfect polyphonic, multi-trackable multi-timbral companion device to make a “DTII, hands on mono-synth, and something else” trio.

I’ve been telling myself I don’t need two Elektron sequencers, so I’d discounted the Syntakt and Digitone II without much thought.

But recently I’ve thought about flipping it on its head and selling the Digitakt II for a Digitone II and then supplementing the DNII with a flexible sampler. Maybe a 1010 Blackbox or 1010 Tangerine with its handling of multi-samples.

I realised that the Digitone II has knocked the Digitakt II off the top spot as best Elektron box to sequence other devices. Of course if I sell it Elektron will do a 2.0 update adding the 16 note polyphony of the DNII midi tracks, polyphonic sample playback, multi-sampling and proper wavetable implementation, user customisable envelop shapes, and user load able fx.

Maybe I just need a DigiXII duo in my life.

Come on Elektron, forget the Tonverk.

It would solve everything if you would release an Analog42
