I was trying out @Eaves tutorial on YouTube on how to create a bass sound on the A4 and went on to make this short thing with it. I know the high pitched notes at the starts are to loud but recorded straight into my phone and noticed it after so it’s what it is
I think I’m making progress with it. I’m really starting to enjoy using the AK synth engine and sequencer as one thing. Because I’m using it over Overbridge, I’ve been experimenting this time with removing all tracks from the main outs, and then using the main out for the output of the FX track and using it sparingly. This puts a dampener on my plans to send other gear through the AK at the same time because you can get some nice stuff just with sending the residue of the internal tracks out instead.
Edit: percussion from my DT, a little help from my Q Swarm.
Gorgeous.
Here’s an A4 jam using it as a drum machine. Performance knobs alter the beat. Sorry about all the fish idk how or why that happened.
I will admit, I sold my A4ii a few years ago to help fund early retirement. Now, every time I watch a Moog Labyrinth video I think “instead of buying that I could sell my Mother 32, combine the money and buy a used A4ii.”
My first real anything with my newly acquired A4 MK1
Trying out the feedback oscillators with AM and FM from the LFOs. I feel like the real sauce to get presence in your patches lies with the Chorus, pre on 0 and feedback at about +40 and it adds real heft to your patch.
It’s less obvious that this is A4. Nice job.
This sounds great
Imagine how much fun retirement would be with an a4.
You must be old because that’s the same way I feel about it. I mean, not THAT old, but…
Still working unfortunately!
mk2 issue - the past few days when working on patterns it seems like if I copy paste a pattern or do something like copy a kit n save to new kit (maybe coincidence) my fx go a bit mental.
delay n reverb both start feeding back n not responding to parameter settings.
I turn em down n stuff but doesn’t seem to help n I can’t really work on the machine till I power off n on again.
anyone know what this could be? never had it with my mk1.
Wicked
Do you have some parameter locks on feedback values that go into overdrive in combination with evolving modulation on occasion, possibly?
Check your performance macros, and especially mute the performance knob.
perf macros are off when it happens
@thejewk I have plenty of fx p-locks & modulation but all is controlled. paste the pattern n it starts feeding back, like if you ended a sequence on a p-lock that had fx parameters in feedback territory, but I haven’t stopped play.
if I then double tap stop, it’ll mostly ring out (not as quick as it would normally) I mute fx track & lots of stuff, double check all fx settings & sends, play n it’s starts feeding back again. only a power cycle fixes it.
I’ll do a deep dive on it today so I can make sure it’s definitely when I paste a pattern. n I’ll make a dedicated thread for it so I don’t clog up this one with my sh*te.
@LyingDalai in related news, funnily enough I never use the quick perf macro on my A4 or AR. so used to the mk1’s I always forget it’s even there. I like working in perf mode when I want my macros. I’m sure I’ll remeber about it someday
Incredibly difficult to discuss bugs and issues in separate threads?
Would be really nice to keep this thread on topic.
agreed. apologies.
You can set e.g. Delay feedback on this. Incredibly useful to be able to tweak FX parmameters while adjusting a filter for instance.
Plus you can pile several performance macros on this quick perf knob!
it’s cool that you can stack em. really nice feature.
