If this is reply to my post above yours, I don’t need it. I was more saying to Papanoongaku that those kind of statements are kind of worthless without elaboration, especially in this context.
… and who can say if that thread holds any insight into his personal reason for thinking the DIgitone 2 is so golden. Again, we’re on a discussion forum to share our thoughts, which hopefully are insightful and unique. Otherwise people can just read press release bullet points of features.
If your post is just coincidentally following mine, ignore all this. 
I own both. Personally, I prefer Tonverk, but beware that it is definitely underbaked. I still run into strange behavior and missing features fairly often, and sometimes it’s hard to tell if these are intentional, bugs, or just something they haven’t gotten around to finishing yet.
Syntakt is a highly capable all-in-one groovebox, and it’s also actually a mature product and fairly feature complete, although it still comes with its share of wacky “Elektron limitations.” No compressor on a drum machine? C’mon dawg.
To me, it mainly comes down to how you like to work. If you prefer working mostly with samples, Tonverk is a lot stronger. If you prefer to work with synthesis, Syntakt wins handily.

Because the DN2 has more voices and a polyphonic sequencer. The Syntakt is fine, but it’s not great. I think the TV has the opportunity to be great like the DN2

That’s a pretty subjective opinion.
For me, the DN2 is more of a minor player in my setup alongside the DT2.
If I had to choose, I’d always go for the Syntakt over the DT2 + DN2 combo (disclaimer: I know what the combo can do).
I actually started out on the DT -love it-, but in the end it all comes down to personal taste.
If someone were to ask me which device (a metal one with a sequencer) I’d choose from the entire Elektron range if I could only have one, I’d reply:
“I don’t mind, but please not the DN2”
…And a part of me would whisper inaudibly: Please let it be an AR.
Quick question so I can be clear. Say Ableton leader, OT and TV following it sync’d over midi, would it be impossible to successfully capture perfect (as you’d expect generally) loops from the TV into the OT? Say you aren’t sequencing the TV notes on its sequencer and are sending midi from Ableton (only sequencing trigless trigs for fx/modulation).
Essentially TV and OT are rompler and tape machine with Ableton as your midi sequencer.
Why would you do this? Just use any 4-op FM synth or the tools in Ableton like Simpler and Drum rack.
Not sure how a 4 op fm synth is relevant?
And simpler and drum rack? Huh? None of those do what the Tonverk and Octatrack do. Is this a troll post?
A couple of aspects I haven’t heard much talk about in the thread that may be worth asking yourself:

What kind of music do you like to make? Lots of harmonies and chords, or more drum focused? The TV and ST are very different here and the right choice depends a lot on how you want your music to sound.

Let’s ignore bugs for a second - do you enjoy seeing an instrument evolve and grow over time, or do you prefer something more stable and mature? Since the ST just got a massive update while the TV is the newest instrument in Elektron’s lineup, it’s safe to assume that the TV will transform over the next couple of years. Personally ,I work in the tech product space so for someone like me, that promise of an exciting evolution ahead is quite exciting.

And the TV is very good at drum focused music too. Subtrack is very powerful to layer samples and the step edit mode is easy to make a drum pattern.

- Ambient, it’s a little monster for this kind of music. The FX are amazingly good. I feed it with my OP-XY, it’s very good for this purpose.
- For me it’s stable (enough) but it can receive some bug fix updates and hopefully time-stretching and page looping. I believe in the TV and I’m sure it will get all the love it deserves from Elektron.

Why are you bringing up a Digitone? I have never once mentioned a Digitone.
And I never once said I wasn’t using the OT sequencer. I said I was sequencing the TV with midi from Ableton, also with a metropolix, but only for note data, and that I am using the sequencer for sequencing effects. It’s very powerful for that, and for sound design. Also the granular engine. And how is the OT in anyway a rompler? As I said, I use it as a tape machine. I capture loops and pitch up/down stretch, and chop (cut and splice…) …‘like a tape machine.
I collaborate heavily with other producers, who don’t use Elektron, so having midi in the device isn’t practical at all times. I can send midi back and forth with those collaborators, sequence the Tonverk, utilize the fx trigs, capture the loops in the OT. The loops I mangle in OT can be sent to those collaborators.
It’s not that complicated. I’d ask you mind your business about other people’s work flows and what works for them. Your opinion wasn’t solicited, it wasn’t useful, some of it had absolutely nothing to do with what I’ve posted (still don’t know why you are talking about the digitone) and you don’t see to have a firm grasp on how these devices can work for certain workflows if you think the locks and trigs are useless without midi…. That’s all fine. It’s just hilarious you are so offended by someone who uses something differently than you.

Yeah, sorry if my post was confusing. I’m not running other gear with the Tonverk, just playing it with a keyboard controller and triggering samples live. I was refering to the latency when creating multisampled instruments. I couldn’t use the Tonverk until the latest OS upgrade because of the latency when making new multisampled instruments using usb with my desktop computer, now the process is much tighter. I’m sory to hear there are issues when using other instruments via midi, I hope that stuff gets ironed out soon!

My first and true love will always be techno and Tonverk (for me personally) does bring something special. I haven’t really figured out my own use cases for it yet (I mean, has Elektron figured this out yet? I would love to see the internal product vision and roadmap), but I’ve started exploring TV as a palette for emulating vector synthesis, emphasis on ‘emulate’. I’m finding i can create quite lovely sound scapes that TV FX and routing (which I have started ‘playing’) are really bringing to life. FX options are just incredible. How i am using it vs why I bought has already diverged.
I also have ST and DN2 and notwithstanding the issues at launch, I went with TV because I think its genuinely exciting and there is so much to come.
