Generally what I’m thinking here is a way to use a joystick to morph between multiple scenes or fx instead of the slider? I often find myself wishing I could morph between more than 2 scenes.
Possible with a second OT, but otherwise it’s not possible because you can select only 2 scenes.
With a joystick sending assignable Control Changes, you can assign X to crossfader CC48, and Y to an fixed lfo depth in order to modulate another parameter. If all tracks are set on the same channel, you can control them all.
Which model of joystick are you thinking about?
I searched for one some time ago but could not really find a ready made option.
I have tried very lightly to modulate Octa with a joystick using a ZOIA Euroburo and a Erica synths black joystick 2 and it works great!
ZOIA can convert any CV to Midi,
I have an Akai MPK Mini Play.
It can send 1 or 2 CCs per axis, hence up to 4 CCs (value 0 in the middle).
I have to choose and buy a midi host to use it with midi din connectors.
Well, in the end the OT only supports interpolation between 2 scenes.
Of course you can use a joystick to manipulate - let’s say - two CCs at once, but there is no way this would bring real multi (>2) scene morphing to the OT.
By “real” I mean morphing of scenes set up within the OT and not some external midi processing which spills out tons of CCs from the joystick’s input (kind of external scene simulation) …
Something like this is what I was thinking.
