Is MPC renaissance a good idea in 2024?

Will it work with the latest MPC software?

I already have an MPD controller and MPC Beats. But the extra knobs of the Ren are appealing.

I primarily work with audio in audacity, Ableton and Logic. I don’t need plugs etc. I just need solid sample/audio management.

I’m not interested in a MPC One/Live/2. Or anything standalone. I need computer integration and access to all my files.

Doesn’t work on Mac anymore, drivers are outdated. Don’t know about Windows.

I think you could get a Maschine MK3 for about the same price and still have software support…

Does this link help?

It seems like it works with MPC Software.

In another Q&A this is what it says:

Can I use MPC 2.0 with my MPC Renaissance, Studio or Touch?
Yes, MPC 2.0 will support the older MPC series including the Renaissance, Studio, Studio Black, Element, and Touch, as well as the new MPC X and MPC Live.

Wasn’t there someone posting on the forum recently that mentioned they’ve kinda developed this machine? Should probably know all there is to know about it’s state and possible issues.

It makes sense if they want you to buy all the other stuff….
