i don’t have enough space to record it in stereo
L out is just the same as mono out right? it won’t make a difference so long as all the voices are panned to the centre
or am i wrong about that?

I don’t know the context of your situation, but usually that is the case

I use my small hardware setup to get my basic riffs and loops down then finish arranging and mixing in my DAW. Unless something needs to be stereo I always record in mono. Ive found it improves my mixes a little bit. I guess that extra stereo info muddies things up a little?
Typically it is the case that as long as your sounds arent panned youll be good.
